Best Gas Price Locations

The corner of NORTH CAPITAL AVENUE & BERRYESSA ROAD
in north San Jose has three stations that compete.
I always find that corner the cheapest in Santa Clara County. ( a close second is SENTER ROAD & CAPITAL EXPY ).

Since most local gas is processed at just a few refineries, the differences will be very small. It is more important to look at the station condition and hope that it reflects the storage tank condition. Most Costco Gass stations are new so their tanks should be in great shape. Less likely to get dirty gas that way.

I agree on Costco...I remember from my Porsche 356 days that avoiding gas stations where the tanker is filling the tanks is a good idea while the filling goes on. The theory is that the filling stirs up the water and sediment that lies on the bottom under the less dense gasoline. I dunno, probably not too necessary with our computer-controlled injection and advanced filtering. Old Porsches had funky mesh screens to filter the gas unless you went with a "non-original" in-line filter (on earlier cars). And old-fashioned Zenith or Solex carbs (remember carburetors??).
