A working OBD-II system. Yes, regular emissions you can get around, but not if you've been sent to the referee.
Correct as far as I remember. I think R34's only had OBDI (at least that's my friend who's been trying to legalize his here in SAC been telling me). He has a 1995 R33 he imported himself and had MOTOREX legalize it). Something funny at MOTOREX is going on. I'll leave it at that.

Unless some major development comes up on the R34 in the next 6 months, I think I'm throwing in the towel, and waiting for the 2008 R35, which will be sold in the US (fully legal, and full warranty and parts/repair support).

Unless you wanna kee it a SHOW car. I would just try an R33. Then again like mentioned above. Once the "SHOW VISA" is done then technically the car has to go back to JAPAN... Or it will go to the crusher.

Yeah, we'll see. My only issue with the R35 is that it's not really a Skyline. The current generation 2-door Skylines (which we know as the Infiniti G35 Coupe) are basically dressed up 350Zs. I understand that Nissan needs to cut costs and consolidate platforms, but I haven't been impressed with the G35's or 350Zs interior feel and quality. The R35 GT-R will basically be a 400hp AWD 350Z. But, I'll wait for the actual car to come out before I pass final judgement.

Depending on your resources you could get your dealers license and put a title only on it (no reg/tax/smog) ...dont see why that wouldent work.

Because the car is already on the list for those needing referee inspection. Once the car is on the list, they will catch up to it one way or other if it's operated in CA.
