Default Ben's S2000 Replacement Unveiled

Well, this is going to be kind of anticlimactic, but it looks like the S2000 replacement will end up being an SUV. That is unless Honda announces that 2006 is the last year for the S2000, in which case, I'll get the 2006 White/Black S2000.

I was offered the chance to buy a Motorex 1999 R34 Nissan Skyline GT-R. It is 1 of 11 street legal Motorex R34s remaining in the country. Unfortunately, US street legal does not always mean California street legal.

After 3 months of trying to make this happen and exhausting all possible avenues, the reality of the situation is that the window for these cars in California is closing. The days of 1996+ Skyline GT-Rs in California are numbered, as there is something brewing over at DMV to get these cars off the road. This car will spend the rest of it's life outside California, and can never return without risk of impoundment (even if wearing out of state plates).

Some pics of the car:

Without going into too much detail, the state of CA has decided to "recall" all registered Skylines in the state for referee inspection, and any cars that don't pass the fundamental basics for being legal will be impounded and/or destroyed. This action will begin in the very near future.

1996+ requires OBD-II. None of the Skylines ever had OBD-II. so, 1996+ cars will fail on this alone, even if whatever is coming out of the tailpipe is squeaky clean. 1989-1995 cars with the proper paperwork should be ok.
