Default Before buying a S2k

Hey guys, I have a friend trying to get an s2k and was wondering if this s2k is good for the price.

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/ctd/3611927366.html

Looking at the picture, it has an ARC intake and an Apexi exhaust. Is there anything he should look out for in this car especially with these mods before buying?

That's not really a screaming deal. I got my 02 with 79k on it for $12k with a brand new top to boot...

I would use the exhaust, and the intake to depreciate the value (especially since it would never pass a visual smog inspection with the ARC)

If he is willing to spend almost $14k on a S he may be better off with a high mileage AP2 as they are in that price range a majority of the time on CL. I love everything about my AP1 but having the torque of an AP2 would be nice

Too high of a price IMO. But then again, it is a stealership, so I'm not surprised.

That's what I was thinking too. Are there any suggestions that he can use to haggle down the price?

For one, Print out the KBB private party value... It will be less for sure. Use the mods as an excuse, Tell them you wanna go with stock parts as they cost more than those it will work in your favor. Not to mention the car is most likely going to need a valve adjustment, fluid changes etc..(maybe even a clutch in the next 10k or so)

If they can't provide proof that they did any of this I would use it in my favor.

With this mileage heres what it would be worth kbb. 3% of all vehicles fall into the excellent range. So that should give you some sort of an idea, This dealer is on crack.. Especialy after you factor in sales tax.

Excellent

$13,425

Very Good

$13,025

Good

$12,675

Fair

$11,475
