If I leave Friday evening, I'd stay overnight and hit the slopes in the morning...then drive back on Saturday evening.

Driving to Tahoe, snowboard and than drive back is not a great idea because you'll be worn out. I highly recommend get there the night before so you will have energy for the next day.
last time I went to heavenly the cost was;
$10 per person for motel
board and binding = $24 rental
boot = $10 rental
goggle = $6 rental
gloves can be purchase at Target and they're very reasonably price.
My lift ticket cost was only $10 because they had the snowboarding convention in San Jose back in Nov. 2006. My friend went last week and one day lift ticket was $62.

Eh.. I kinda agree on this last one. I pulled a fast one this past weekend, drove up to dodge ridge early mornin (7am) with the roomy, boarded the whole day, then drove back. We both passed out about 9-10ish at night. The night before just seems like a better idea...
Should be fun either way.

^^^ Did this last Thursday. Yeah. We were beat. But our driver was a real trooper... and I kept him company the whole way (only fell asleep for 10 mins)
