Bay Area OT: Job Hunting Now...
#1
First, the only reason I bring this up here is because I'm assuming most of you are well-off and probably doing pretty good in your own respective careers. I don't post horribly often here as I don't own an s2000 (although I aspire to and hopefully will come next spring). But I have thoroughly enjoyed this forum, even back on the old board days.
Second, I have a full-time job now. But for various reasons, I am unhappy with the Firm at which I work at. I am a Corporate Paralegal and am looking for a similar position at either a large law firm or a well-established tech company. I currently live in Oakland but commute all the way to Palo Alto.
Third, I'm wondering if any of your companies might have an opening in the Legal Department - or if you're a lawyer, perhaps there is space for one more paralegal at your firm. Or you can think of a company based in the SF Bay Area that would be interesting to work for. I've done the monster, hotjob, headhunter websites. I'm looking at different company's websites now (Sony, Napster, etc.) but am running out of companies that would seem interesting to work for.
So any leads would be helpful. Maybe it's a stretch to ask for this kind of help here, but hey...what do I have to lose in asking?
Thanks!

If you'd asked three months ago I woulda called you, but we just fille the position. Thank God for the tech colloapse!
Call Brobeck, Phledger & Harrison in the city, I understand they are hiring, and they are right off of Bart, so the commute would be a breeze. (http://www.brobeck.com/)
Where are you at now? Wilson, Sonsini? (Most people there tend to be unhappy...)

I just e-mailed human resources to see if we are looking for anyone in Palo Alto or San Francisco.
Send me a personal message and tell me a little about your work experience and whether you are corporate, litigation, IP, etc.

Kizneda: PM Sent. Thanks!
Sparky: Thanks, it's the thought that counts. And I work across the street from Wilson (Fenwick & West), and I've heard the same rumor about that factory as you have.. Brobeck is on the list of law firms I will be sending resumes to soon.
