battery tender

I use this one. Comes with a plug for your battery so you don't have to use the clips.

Interesting.. Maybe I haven't done enough research.. It seems that the more expensive versions are legal but the $20 battery tender jr is not. Regardless, there are a few ~$20 options that people have suggested so I will pick one of those up and hopefully it does a good job. If it kills the battery then it's time for a new one anyways.

Don't buy a crappy battery tender/charger. As someone from a place where you can only drive a nice car about 4 months of the year due to snow/ice/rain etc... many nice cars (new and classic) + boats have been lost due to the battery being overcharged and catching on fire because the $15 or $20 battery charger failed.
I used to only charge my battery once a month for a couple of hours with a $10 dollar harbor fright equivalent quality charger for fear of this.
I have since bought this one:
http://www.amazon.com/NOCO-G7200-Bat...attery+Charger
I paid if I remember $75 CAD for it, I waited for a 40% off sale at Canadian Tire (kinda like a mix of Home Depot + Orchid Supply Hardware).
I also used the NOCO G7200 to recover the dead OEM battery because I let it go flat too many times over the years of never driving my s2000. I took the battery out and set it recover (desulfate mode) for a day.

just a heads up: Costco has this battery tender for $39.99 now. Saw it at the San Bruno one on El Camino. Seems like it had good reviews on Amazon. i might pick up one, but i kinda want my battery to die, so i can get the lightweight Shorai package from KC Machine. lol
