BALLADE TIMING GEAR

BALLADE TIMING GEAR
I purchased a Ballade Sports timing gear a few months ago, I finally got around to installing it on the vehicle this passed weekend. I have driven the vehicle about 80 miles since Friday night and all I can say is I'm very impressed with this product. I have a 00 ap1 with 43,000 miles and I noticed that it had this so called "issue" that s2000s develop with time due to the timing chain stretching. Most ap1 owners can agree that the f20 is real gutless under 5000 rpm, and can be a bit annoying at times trying to drive around town and always having to drive at such high rpms to get around. My initial impression is that it feels like it has a nice increase in torque and throttle response, even idles a bit smoother. Makes it much better to putt around town at low rpms. I find myself shifting at 3500 rpms or so not having to mash on the gas to get up to speed. I have done a few wot runs up to 3rd gear when jumping on the freeway and you can definitely feel the increase in power. Not a excessive amout, but it feels like when you do a few upgrades to a vehicle like (I/H/E). I really wish i would have got it dyno'd to see before and after numbers to see what kind of power gains this thing really makes. The only mods i have to the car is a test pipe and single 70mm exhaust. I definitely recommend this upgrade to anyone looking to a do a nice upgrade to the engine for a decent price. Crazy that they offer your money back if you dont make any power lol

Ballade Sports S2000 Timing Chain Correction Gear is the latest in Honda S2000 technology advancement. We at Ballade Sports have addressed a cam and crank sync error in the beloved F20C /F22C S2000 motor. Because of a clockwise rotating engine assembly, the F20c/F22c motors experience Cam and Crank synchronization error due to chain guide wear and timing chain stretch. This usually happens within its first 10,000 road miles of road use. Unfortunately Honda was unable to foresee this problem in initial development and positioned the Timing Chain Tensioner (TCT) on the opposite side of the timing chain where it is unable to alleviate the additional slack in the timing chain. Notice in the description photos Perfect TDC on the Cam timing scribes will always leave the Crank position pulley off by 2-3 degrees at the bottom. Or in opposite with the crank pulley in Perfect TDC position will inevitably leave the Cam timing scribes uneven at an angle to each other instead of leveling straight.
Ballade Sports Timing Correction Gear optimizes the cam and crank synchronization by correcting the chain slack in the engine rotation with this newly improved drive gear. This simultaneously adjusts both Intake Camshaft and Exhaust Camshaft without the use of expensive Adjustable Cam Gears/Pulleys.
Benefits:
3 Wheel Horsepower Increase.
Optimized Fuel Efficiency and MPG.
NO ECU Tuning Required!! That's right folks install it and forget it.
Extreme durability, heat treated to factory specification hardness.
Cam & Crank synchronization, Timing Scribes on the Cam Gears, Drive Gear and Crank Pulley will line up near perfectly.
Stock ECU & Stand Alone ECU compatible.
Prolongs Timing Chain and Guide replacement maintenance.

No before/after TDC lining up?
No before/after dyno?
I will remain skeptical.
I'm not trying to bash your post. It's cool that you posted up a review. I just want to see some hard evidence that this works from a third party.

Dude I forgot to get before pics of the timing marks, but they were off. I already had it apart as I was changing my retainers from ap1 to ap2. Im sure if you go check your car its the same. No worries about the comments I was expecting some one to say something because I have no Dyno #s. I installed one on my buddy Jimmy's car (wingz) his timing marks were off as well. Other s2000s I have done valve adjustments to the timing marks were off as well

I want to see proof from someone who doesn't have a vested interest.

still hard to believe that this would give you HP. is it due to proper timing?

It is a timing gear, so I believe your assumption is correct…
