i dont think a gear changes just 500 , mose likely +2500,3000

Shifting at 8,500 rpm's out of 3rd, and into 2nd gear will bring the rev's to 11,730 rpm's. The difference is 3,230 engine rev's.

What do you come up with

8,500 rpm's in 3rd gear is 86.5 mph. 86.5 mph in 2nd gear is 11,730 rpm's.

enter 11,730 rpm's into the gear calculator, and it will register 86.5 mph in second gear.

You said you were going about 8,500 rpm's in 3rd gear, which is about 86.5 mph. 86.5 mph is 11,730 rpm's in 2nd gear.

Subtract 8,500 from 11,730, and you get 3,230 which was posted already.

I am not sure what you mean

actually what i want to do is , i ll get an used engine , and keep this and rebuilt , with this way i ll be able to know the whole engine
The head is DONE. I bet the crank is toast too.

Nice work Speedy I have a block where the rod snapped and went through both sides of the block- cracking the oil pan, water pump and one of the valves was sitting at 90 degrees. Even the motor mount brackets cracked. Pretty decent, I should post the pics up to make you feel better

I used to hear stories from mechanics about how they've seen s2000s with blown engines. And I thought to myself you have to be a total idiot to blow the engine cause it's built for high revving... on top of that it's a honda so doesn't it make it bullet proof? But I guess nothing is unbreakable.
