1. i would've looked at my hood and found the dent before even leaving the area, then "worked something out" with him before leaving that may have involved some of the heavy tools kept in my trunk for situations just like this.
2. write down license plate, police.
3. take the football.
911 is real in easy to dial, and u shouldn't have any qualms about using it when someone's being a . I sure don't.

John,
It is a good thing you are sensible and have control over your anger. I don't think I would have reacted as calmly as you did. I have had a similar spree of bad luck with my S. I hope it is over for both of us. Bad things happen to good people.
Another example of H8R behaviour:
I was in downtown SF making a right from Union on to Franklin. Franklin is a 3 lane one way street so I usually take the corner a little faster since I have 3 lanes. I take the turn and go to the end of the block to a redlight. Some 30ish yuppie on an ultralite bicycle starts hurling insults and circling my car. "Nice turn d!ckhead. IF you would have hit me I would taken your head off." When the light turned green he gave me the finger and rode off. If he would have physically provoked me, it would not have ended well. What did I take away from this:
Drive slower in your neighbourhood. Let verbal insults and rude gestures roll off your back. It is hard, but someone has to be the non-egomaniac in a confrontational situation.
Sorry for what happened, some people are just jealous when they see a nice car.
Take care,
Asura

ugh! sounds like it was a really BAD day. Glad you had the sense to remain fairly calm and did not get too into ripping someone's head off. There are idiots, and there are idiots...and sometimes there are MORE idiots...you just ran iton them all in one day! I am not sure I would have been so calm...at least car stuff can be repaired, you never know when someone will pull a gun or knife in a confrontation, just not worth it. Calling 911 in the more severe cases can work wonders as it helps you release some of the frustration w/o getting into anything too dangerous.
I dont thin I want to drive my car into the City anymore after reading about all the things that have happened...just doesnt seem worth it.
