White Oaks works with Progressive because I been in an accident. And yes, it's guranteed for as long as you own your car. Marin, great guy. Fun to talk to, and plus. When you go there to check up on your car, you'll see a bunch of Lotus, Lambo, Ferrari, Aston martin, and bunch of other exotic car. If you're lucky you get to see Marin 700+ HP Z. I need to stop by and see how he's doing. I work near by.

My insurance company told me autotech collision guarantees it as well, but I'd trust you guys before anything else. And yes kayvan, that essay did suck in class, I couldn't tell if he just wanted a thesis paragraph or traditional essay.

Well I guess it comes down to a vote between Active autobody or White Oaks?

u know what, u dont have to go where ur ins company suggests, but they suggest them for a reason, progressive has network shops all over the place and they give life time guarentee on the work for the life of the car as well as progressive backs that guarentee...in all honesty if ur ins co has network shops or preffered customer shops, stick to them, they will give ur car priority and chances are the shop is not a mom and pop, the usuall dont have tax ids cuz they are INC. meaning they do huge business and own more than 1 location...heres a good example i tell customers all the time....before i worked at progressive mycar got keyed and i went a shop recomended by friends...every panel keyed took 27 days to get my car back....now working at progressive i wrote a sheet for a 5 series that had every panel keyes, mind u 4 doors not 2, done in 7 days, now dont think its because they cut corners, no sir, in fact they have to give priority to progressive cars....wow, long story short being in the business of dealing with shops myself and ins......try and stick with a progressive shop, ask them the benefits at least

just send it to a trusted place on the forums. that shop will give you an estimate.. a low one... but where ever you take it insurance has to pay the shop how much they ask. my s is sitting at a bodyshop right now too. look on the bright side though at least they didnt try to give you fake insurance
actually u have this backwards, EVERY shop no matter how trusted it is that is non-network gives estimates that are way high, and no we do not pay out whatever the shop wants, we write our own sheets and tell the shop if they want an extra 100 for corrosion protection in the middle of a door (there isnt any there) than they can explain to the customer why the customer has to pay out of pocket for things their car doesnt need.

i dunno its just what ive been told and what ive experienced. my car is currently at my bodyshop which cost 2800 to fix. the shop the guys insurance sent me to said 1600 and my insurance sent me to the place next door that they work with and they said 1300. Now how is it possible to replace 2 taillights, a rear bumper, the absorber peice behind it, replace or fix the trunk, and pull part of the qarter pannel. then paint everything. and add labor fees. i have 4 different estimates from shops i went to none are less then 2400 with the highest at 4300.

im not trying to prove anything im just trying to look out for fellow owners because ive had only bad come out of shops the insurance companies sent me to. i had a 99 eclipse that was "under warrenty" from the body shop and the clearcoat faded, they told me it was because i left me car out in the sun and wouldnt cover it.

also if the shop tries to charge 100 for corrosion protection in weird places there scamming you. of course an insurance company wont pay for it. if you took your car to a good honest place that does high quality work would this happen? all im saying is go to an honest place that does quality work because with cars, you get what you pay for

yeah no i totally agree, i dont know who ur insured with and what shops they sent you to cuz it doesnt sound like u had a good experience, but im just saying that those shops u guys are all crazy about like active auto and white oaks are part of our (progressive's) network shops and we dont let bad shops into our netwrk, its like strikes, u mess up once u get warned, 2 times ur out....we sent these shops hundreds of cars a month, millions a year, y would they want to lose that business???

as far as the initial estimate written by ur insurance dude, im guessin 1 of 2 things, he either only wrote what he could see for, as in when he wrote ur sheet the car wasnt torn down so he didnt know the extent of the damage to rear body panel, or he just really didnt know what he was doing...cuz yah replacing 2 tail lights, bumper, impact absorber (probably reiforcment bar too) and having to pull a qrtr panel means that the amount of damage to ur car was probably pretty bad, if i wrote ur sheet i or anyone at progressive wrote ur sheet i promise the only difference between ours and the shops woulda been minor stuff like refinish time or or the shop wanting to blend to a door, just minor stuff like that, all i was sayin was that a shop tries always to get a little more from the big ins co, cuz in thier eyes whats an extra 100 bucks to us...even just 10, but now multiply that by the number of estiates we write, 90k times 100 bucks starts becommin more and more money. and dude i totally agree with lookin out for fellow s2k owners thats why i give my 2 cents being in the ins end of it....and about ur clearcoat thing, i would have argued that tooth and nail with my ins co, taken it to the highest auth if needed, its void cuz u left ur car in the son???? where in the sheet they give u does it say u can only drive ur car at night? i woulda been so pissed and im sorry u had to have that bad experience

glad to hear ctr! =) hope it all works well. ernie you seem like a pretty cool guy if you were the one doing my insurance stuff i probally would have been very satisfied. =) but yeah as far as my car..... i had smoked jdm lights and the one that got hit was completly destroyed. all state (my insurance) refused to pay for 2 new tail lights and said i would have to drive with one smoked and one stock. would not pay for the differnce in the smoked light at all. mary (feistyS2K) sent me a extra pair she had THANK YOU AGAIN MARY. and tommy sold me his old rear bumper for cheap. its only because you s2ki guys helped me out that the insurance check was enough to cover a QUALITY fix and paint job. barley covered for everything. so thanks again everyone! oh and btw the damages werent to bad on the quarter pannel. it was only bent in 1/2 inche but the corner shifted into the trunk. but it was bad enough it had to be pulled and the whole quarter pannel repainted as well
