Autospa in San Francisco
Hello
Has anybody had any experience in going to this shop for detailing? They have a groupon special for this shop and yelp reviews seem favorable but would like some s2k owners perspective. Thanks.

i brought my S to them on a Groupon deal, last year, a couple months after I first got the car. they damaged the clear bra i just had installed. looks like they used a power buffer on it, which melted part of it. even worse, they left long, hairline scratches across the back of my trunk and driver side of the rear bumper. i didn't see them until i got home, and it's pretty dark in their shop (under the Sound Factory nightclub).
i texted the owner right when after seeing the scratches (same night) and sent him pics. when i brought the car back the next day, of course he denied that they did it. i told him that i don't drive the car often and ALWAYS inspect it before and after i drive it, so i know the scratches weren't there before i brought him the car. the shop has a detailing supply cart and vacuum cleaner that they squeeze between the cars that look like could've rubbed up against my car and caused the scratches. i remember the cart being next to my rear bumper when i picked up the car.
long story short, the guy tried to buff the scratches, but couldn't remove them. i think a better place might be able to do it, but i haven't bothered because i was blocking out the experience from my mind. thanks a lot for bringing it up again. LOL
i don't want to bash the guy or shop. to be fair, he did a decent job on the rest of the car, but it's up to you whether you want to risk going there. the guy has a pretty strong personality too. read some of his yelp reviews, and you'll get an idea.
