They've done quite a few S's. JsAP1 and I have been amazingly happy with their work, and Shawn is at the top of his game.

I would NOT recommend Shawn at Active Autobody.

He does not guarantee his work, and his paint match ability with Pearl paint leaves a lot to be desired.

I had him paint my Amuse bumper twice, and each time it did not match. Gave him the benefit of the doubt the first time, since I didn't leave my car. I left my car the second time and when I came back the base coat was too dark, and he sprayed too much pearl.

And the guy isn't even professional. It seemed like he didn't even know it didn't match! I came to pick up my car and he gave me my keys and tried to send me off. I had to point out to him that it didn't match myself! He came up with some excuse like, "Oh it's the angle of the light. If you look at it from here it matches." Uhhh, WTF. Couldn't take anymore of his talking out his ass, plus I had to roadtrip the next day, so I just kept my keys.

He then showed me a customer car sitting in the lot which he had just finished. It was a Spa that had come in with front end damage. He re-sprayed the fender, front bumper, and "blended" the hood. His FINISHED product looked like absolute crap. It must've had 5 different shades of yellow! I would've liked to see the face of the owner when he came to pick up his car. Shaun's excuse? He said that Honda Yellows are impossible to match. "This is the best I can do. Even if I was to do it all over again, I couldn't guarantee a 100% match."

I would not have given him my money if he had been professional and straight-up with me when I came in. At least caution me if you cannot match Pearl paints! A simple "I cannot guarantee that your paint will match 100%" would've done wonders. I would then have just taken my money elsewhere. But no, he confidently took on the task, and ripped me off.

Now he may be great with other colors besides Pearls, but that shouldn't matter. I wouldn't patronize a shop that doesn't guarantee their work, and is not up-front with their customers. That's just bad business.

Ive also seen MrMacks car. The paint match is bad. The rear wing looks spa with extra pearl, and the bumper is very noticible.

I was in last week for a estimate. I saw the multi-colored spa. Feel bad for the guy, half his hood is one shade spa, fender another, bumper yet another shade of spa. Shawn says "thats as good as we can do".

I've had good work done there in the past, but if this is how you treat your customers, there are many more places to go. I dropped my stuff off at another shop this week. There's no way I'd give this guy any more business if he can't guarantee a paint match. I think his painter is color blind.

It's harder for shops to paint bumpers because of the material. I suggest you goto a shop that can do a blend. I had my hood painted and the shop painted the hood, fender and bumper at the same time, but it was blended in, so only 1/2 the fender and bumper were painted, then re clearcoated. Beatiful job since white is the most dificult to color match.

It all comes down to price too, so I guess you can say you pay for what you get. $500 to paint the bumper (blended) on my GF's TSX.
