audio install in south bay or sf?
Does anyone have any recommendations on audio install places in the South Bay or SF? I need to put in some components up front and hook them up to an amp.
Also, I was thinking about just buying the parts online since they are so much cheaper but will any audio place just install the parts without me having to buy the parts from them at near retail prices?
I got a quote from one place for the 6 series diamond audio and a decent amp to power them + install + wires for ~$1000. I see the 6 series diamond audio components going for 180-200 on ebay after shipping

retail at the stores are $500 with some kind of small discount so there is a huge premium on buying them retail.
if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. thanks.

I've been planning to get these for a while:

Just need to figure out an amp.
It would help if we knew the model year you have. The speakers in my link supposedly fit right into an AP2 with just a spacer for the driver.
Car audio is marked up at least 100% btw(200% for Monster Cable).

s2kong - Remember to check for any warranties with online places (if any). I have a recommendation for a great installer in the east bay (Dublin)Ultimate Car Toys
They do great custom installs as well as normal ones too.
jasonw - I wanted those Polk's until I heard them (not in an S2000 though...argh). Have you heard these before? Whose got them in an S?

I have a 2001 AP1 so only front components needed.
I am looking at Diamond Audios and Focals. I've heard the Diamond Audio HEX series in an Accord and they have good midbass and nice soft silk tweeters. I haven't heard the Focals in person but heard they are good towards the lower end. However, they have a huge magnet which I think will make it more difficult to fit into the S.
As for amps, I've heard good stuff about Audison and Zapco but those are $$$.

I know Clear Armor in San Carlos can install for a very good price. They do auto audio installation and also clear paint protection installation. Let me know if you want to call and ask for a quote. PM me if you need their number.
