yeah, thats why i want to see who has one nearby that I can compare. i mean theres wiggle room, and then theres that big gap i have.

Measurement from left inner edge of the carbon vertical piece (see pic 2 below) to the edge of the upright (pic 1 below) is 10-3/4". This is at the rear with the tape set somewhat diagonal to the rear trunk lid (otherwise the tape wouldn't touch that vertical carbon piece).
Measurement from the front side of the upright, this time with the tape basically perpendicular to the car, I get about 9-1/4" (pic 3 below).
As you can see from the difference in measurements, the uprights are pretty angled.
