has anyone tried the re-01r yet? im thinking about picking up a set. I had a run with them in a buddies evo9 and it was pretty awsome but then again i was in awd. Comparison to the s02?

i need a good set of tires since mine are shot. any suggestions? <-- stock ap1

 

It should be better than the SO2's in everyway possible. The only problem is it doesn't exact maintain the stock stagger because the 225/50/16 out back are a little bit more narrow than the SO2's 225/50/16. However I don't think it should be a problem. Tim's did a very through review of the tires. My Comparison on these tires goes only as far as the tires I've own, which unfortunately does not include the S0-2's.

I've had them on for a while, and no complaints. Controllable even in slides, Stephen would remember from the passenger side of my car at the auto-x, I slid my rear through most of the track and we both were impressed at the control even past the limit. Limit approach is a bit suttle though.

They are pretty good in the rain as well, I again have no complaints. I'd hit it (err.. get it) again.

 

they are up to par with the neovas... ive seen them in action in san diego where bridgestone was letting people test RE01Rs for a weekend of autox during national tour.

i can actually give locals a good deal than the sale price for either the 225/45/17 245/40/17 staggered setup or the 245/40/17 non staggered setup

 

I've had these on my stock AP1 since October or so. I really like them, but I can't compare them to the S02s as my car came with crappy Kumho 712s. They have great grip and are great for autocrossing. Slides are controllable and wet grip is pretty good, though I never push it in the rain.

The change in stagger from the S02s is not bad, it's very tame if you keep it under 8/10ths. I highly recommend the tires. I bought them when they first came out, since then the price has dropped and then it went back up again, but definitely go for it if you can get $100 rebate.

EDIT: They are on sale for just $460 a set at Tire Rack! I may have to pick up another set.
