I will be purchasing the Elda Eng. roll bar soon. I would do it myself but I don't have the right tools for a clean install.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Where does the bottom of the bar mount to? (this is to determine the ease of install)

I'm picking up the Elda bar and Willans 6-point pretty soon, though I'll probably install it myself. I think Elda provides most of what you need to install the bar, including an instructional DVD. All you probably need is a few simple tools and a dremel.

Looks like I can install that. Will take some time though because I would have to trim the stock roll bar "padding".

Does it come with a harness bar?

I installed mine by myself a few weeks ago. Besides the cutting, it is really not very difficult and does not require many tools.
The cutting of the trim pieces is not difficult but is very time consuming and requires some patience.

Tools you need:

a) a drill and some drill bits which can be bought at OSH or home depot
b) a dremel tool and dremel bits for cutting the trim and the wheel well.
c) metric wrenches

The bottom of the bar attaches to the metal body of the car, of course :-)

There are 4 mounting points - the two front and two back. The front ones are just behind your seats, behind the piece of plastic with the two hooks. The rear mounts are just forward of the rear shock tower. You will need to remove most of the interior behind the seats to install the bar. The DVD instruction video is very good, as it provides a good guide of the whole installation process.

Anyway, asking someone else to do it would probably cost more than the bar itself and I would not trust anyone else to do it other than Wael himself. If you do it yourself, you can spare the time and effort to slowly cut the trim pieces. Any installer is going to be pressed for time to finish it quickly.

I would be wiling to help and give some advice during the install. Although the most realistic advice is patience for an install that is as perfect as possible. And that is the problem of having a shop do it for you...you either pay by the hour which will hurt you, or a flat fee where they try to do it quick, and inadvertantly half-ass it.

I did mine with Wael when I was on the East coast in one day, but since he is really good at cutting the plastic, that saved hours. And man was I dead tired by the time we were done.

I agree, for best results, send the trim pieces back to Wael for modification. Elda offers this for a nominal cost.
