for track, it helps on constant tire pressure since nitrogen doesnt expand as quickly as oxygen.
I thought is was the moisture in the air that cause the pressure diff? something Nitrogen lacks.

"Nice thing about Nitrogen is it doesn't expand".

I guess Jay never took physics or chemistry in school.

Ouch...that hurt soo bad. Immature jokes from an immature person. Try using a joke that doesn't belong in grade school. Besides, I prefer Jack in the Box.

Class, school is in session now.

Fact #1. "Air" is composed of ~78% Nitrogen already.
Fact #2. "Air" is composed of ~21% Oxygen. Since you probably can't substract, that leaves only 1% left which is mostly Argon.
Fact #3. Oxygen is a whole 14% heavier than Nitrogen.
Fact #4. I'll let you figure out the math, but pure Nitrogen is a whole 2% lighter than "Air".

If you think a 2% difference in the weight of the air in your tires makes any difference....

Lets not forget that Leno said Nitrogen doesn't expand, which it does, not that it weights any less.

I guess reading comprehension, chemistry, or physics weren't strong points for you in school...hmmmm..what does that leave.

Class dismissed.

Back on topic, the only real benefit from using nitrogen is that is drier than typical compressed air. You would gain the same benefit if you used dry air such as what comes out of a scuba tank.
