My fiancee's father works at a place where they have machines to cut and weld metal. He has had experience fabricating and replicating things if he has a mold. I was hoping that he can make a custom Ti exhaust or something for me. Anyone know where you can just buy sheets of Ti so he can give it a shot?
if your fiancee's father is a machinist, couldn't he get the material cheaper than if you purchased it retail?

Buy it from the scrapyard... otherwise you will be paying more than the cost of an aftermarket exhaust for the sheet of metal.

You don't need an inert room to weld titanium? You just run argon as a shield gas and then helium as a back gas. Welding tubes is simple in that you just plug the tubes with an endcap and fill it with helium.

Your crazy to make a muffler out of titanium... Ebay Ti Muffler for $50

Good scrapyard in San Leandro

If you find a monkey at the register he will think it is stainless steel... even cheaper.

If I can help, I do!

But I only comment on the shite I have done... And I have usually screwed so much stuff trying to get it done that I learn a lot of other things on the way!!! So people don't have to go through my mistakes. Like making a titanium muffler for example.

^^ You tried making a Ti muffler? I don't think he would know how to fabricate a Ti muffler, but I was hoping that he can make me the piping. Is 2.75" diameter too big for the piping? I plan to go with a dual.

2.75" for the midpipe and 2.5" after the split. I think that's how the T1R 70mm Sparrow is set up.
