You could also take in the car for a Pre-Purchase inspection (PPI). You usually have to pay for this, but it's well worth it for peace of mind for some people.

That's what I did... but after I bought my car.

i wonder how it went.

i do agree adding something to a car is modding (hood, bumper, exhaust, etc) but what about paint?

We just got back from checking out the car. it was a big disapointment
