Anyone have their front windshield fully tinted?
I haven't found a place that will tint the front windshield without charging rediculous prices. I've found a place near me that will do the side and rear for $145 total but won't do the windshield. I'd like to have all done so it looks nice and even. I only plan to do 40% all around which shouldn't look *too* dark.
Anyone have all windows done for under $200? Where at?

umm...I don't think anyone would do the front windshield...sides i think 40% at night looks really dark at night, so I don't think you'll be wanting to do that to your front windshield...seems like a visual hazard to me.

Look in the Hawaii section for a pic of my car. I have 35% on the front and double 5% on the sides and back. I paid $100 for 1 layer of tint for the sides and back and then I got the rest free because the tint shop cut my top.

jarod,
Sorry, I don't know of any places in the Bay Area, but you should be able to find one if you keep looking. On my old car, I had everything tinted, including the front windshield. It cost about $100 for the rear windshield and the other four windows (it was a sedan), and then an additional $50 or so for the front windshield. This was several years ago, though, and it was done in So Cal.

It is illegal tint the whole front windshield.

How is the shop to know this isn't a full-blown show car that's only used for cars shows? It wouldn't be illegal then. I think the owner of the vehicle should be the one making the call. Not the shop, they have no idea what each car that comes in is used for.

Some shops will also ask you to sign a waiver acknowledging that you take full responsibility for any illegal tint. I signed one when I got my front driver/passenger windows and front windshield tinted. I'm surprised that you're having trouble finding a place that does it, though. A few years ago, it was somewhat popular (in So Cal at least) for the BMW, Benz, and Lexus guys to tint their front windshields. Even at night, it doesn't decrease visibility as much as one might think.

I found one place that will do the front, but for the outrageous price of $185 for the front ONLY. $150 for the rest of the windows.
40% isn't bad at all to have done. It's pretty light. I have 40% on the sides on my current beater car and 5% (limo tint) on the rear.
