I was just reading about it in the latest Honda Tuning, it's very interesting.
I don't agree that the cost ratio of a Supercharger is anywhere near this kit. Sure, you can get a Supercharger for cheap but if you don't add some strength to your engine components then you are asking for trouble. (Second hand experience via a friend who blew his S2000 engine, twice.) For my intentions (mild mid-range performance increase) the iVTEC kit suits me just fine.

The mod is very new so cars with it installed is hard to come by. You might be the first in the Bay Area with this mod if you decide to do it. Let us know about your experience with this mod and picture of the process would be great.
Props for trying something new.

That's exactly how I found out about it myself. Well, I was reminded about it via that article. I remember when the OP first posted about it here. He was blasted left and right for even thinking about iVTEC. Look at him now.

Obviously your money, but seems like a lot of money (~$4k) to spend.

Yea, he had lots of issues with his supercharger setup. That left a sour taste in my SC appetite which I want to steer clear of.

Please don't expect this iVTEC setup to be without its own set of issues

i also live in santa clara with ss, all stock. but i rarely see other ss in the town. random thought.
as far as ivtec, its a great idea but the kind of r&d cost/power ratio, i'd go with fi, or drivetrain. if not cosmetic..
