Default Anyone have experience with America's Tire?

So I have a nail in my tire and I call around and America's Tire tell me that they give free tire patching. (Location: Brokaw, San Jose)

Anyone have experience with them? Any experiences with them scratching rims?

Thanks for the comment. I will give them a try, probably going to tip hoping that they won't scratch the rim.

Anyone else?

A friend of mine works for Firestone... not the same but here's some advice that he told me when I wanted to patch a tire:

If it's within 2" of the sidewall, they won't patch it. If you use a penny, and can see the top of the head when it's upside down, they won't patch it.

Other than that...

Don't know how they'd scratch it since it won't be going on the mounting machine--but you never know!!

To be able to patch a tire you have to remove it from the wheel which is what they do.

I've been to the one in Campbell a number of times, including a couple with the S2000. No problems, and they price-match against Tire Rack.

You're thinking about plugging. Patches go on the inside.
