I think Verizon was number one but when I was with AT&T I had no problem with service(cingular and ATT merged). Service is vital to me and the GSM shouldn't be an issue.

my friend w/ verizon in Irvine gets no receiption but my cingular works. On the other hand, her verizon phone works in certain mountain areas where my phone doesnt work

Nope no phone that you buy in the US works in Korea I believe....while Korea and Verizon(and sprint) both use CDMA I don't think that they are able to be transferred...the US phones are locked and even if they were unlocked there is no SIM card to tranfer phone information(i.e. the number, etc...)

Nope Korea is all CDMA and Japan decided to create they're own standard which is incompatabile with everyone....but at least it's true JDM!

maybe its cuz they get charged excessively for international calls but we use monthly minutes so its harder to charge the US users?
