Subscribing...I'm also in a search of the right gear for the S...I was going for the ITB but came to my senses, it'll be too much trouble when it's time to smog it!...So I'm going for gear instead!!

buy new oem install kit. Since you have the pumpkin off you might as well change all the seals
You should get Mugen bushings

Spoon seals...something about less resistance in the meshing of the gears

i ordered my supercharger the same time as my gears.. how do you like your geared sc setup? i imagine your 1st gear is useless and 2nd gear is almost useless when WOT how do you like the setup as is now? i see you are upgrading to 4.77's.. im glad i got them as my first choice if thats how you feel from the 4.57s

if you were curious of how the gearing affects your speed you can check out :

http://www.turnzero.com/technical_resource...gear_calculator

they have a drop down for the S2K's, and you can modify your tire diameter and your final drive gear ratio and it will re-map it out ..

here's a quick writeup to see the diff.. (this is with my tire setup in rear 255/40/17.. tire diameter of about 25")

max MPH in 4.10's / 4.57's / 4.77's per gear for AP1

1st: 43 mph / 38 mph / 37 mph
2nd: 66 mph / 59 mph / 57 mph
3rd: 91 mph / 81 mph / 78 mph
4th: 116 mph / 104 mph / 100 mph
5th: 139 mph / 125 mph / 119 mph
6th: 166 mph / 149 mph / 143 mph
I think that is wrong, and in a good way! 4.77's can go up to about 110mph in 4th i believe. (which is great for 1/4 mile guys)

you can see it in this video. he shifts into 5th at around 110 mph.

i think it's pretty accurate actually, it's calculated and proven math. the guy in that video doesnt have his speedo corrected for the gears.

anyways, i am about to start installing my gears in about an hour. hopefully have it broken in in a couple days
