Oops, I guess my subject line is kind of confusing.
Thanks for the support guys. Right now I'm seriously considering a lawyer. This is going to be one expensive lesson... but I guess life is all about learning, right?

I got a 138 in a 65 about 10 years ago, my situation was similar to Dong's in that it was ~$1700 or so after everything... plus 2 points on my record, and my insurance went up really bad. I got the 30 day license suspension, and pissed the judge off by asking for a temporary drive to work permit.
I should've hired a lawyer. I definitely would if I were you.

Hey snowball,
I dunno if this will help, but I gathered some information for you on finding a lawyer in Kern County (I assumed it was in Kern County, anyway).
You can search the Kern County BAR Association for attorney listings:
http://www.kernbar.org/
also, http://www.findlaw.com is a great resource for information, and you can search for lawyers there, as well.
I couldn't find out if the Kern County BAR has a sponsored lawyer referral program, but you should be able to find all the info you need on one of those sites, should you choose to go that route.
Good Luck,
DP
