Default Anyone ever get a speeding ticket that requires

Alright, so I got hit with a 96 in a 65 mph ticket...it was real stupid of me, I admit it was a mistake.

I haven't gotten a ticket in 10 years, and I figured I could go traffic school and just pay the fine. Well I get the ticket and it looks like I'm not eligible for traffic school and I have to go to court.

What can I expect? What kind of fine am I looking at here? And the point is just on my driving record forever?

Probably a 2 point infraction. You might be able to take traffic school to take 1 point off.

Not sure how maybe point, might be just 1. I think you have to break 100 to get a 2 pointer. At any rate, when I showed up, the Judge immediately postponed the case and told me to get a lawyer, so I did. Mines was a 2-point infraction and you are not allow to take traffic school. Don't know what the fine would have been.

So I found a traffic lawyer, and just met her and told her my story. The next court appearance, I didn't have to go, she went for me. Got it reduced to 1 point and paid like 200ish worth of fines. The lawyer was 200 too. So all in all, not too bad.

If I were you, I'd consult a traffic lawyer. 2 points is very serious. 3 and your license gets suspended. Don't know what DUI is not automatic suspension.

Your options are limited, and get even more limited as you wait. So I would find a lawyer asap. Speeding fines are pricey, may as well pay a lawyer some to reduce it...and maybe the points. Good luck.

So traffic school only clear one point. I though it clears the whole ticket, doesn't matter how many point on that ticket, all these times. Guess I was wrong.

if you get a 2 point infraction traffic school is not an option.
I got a exhibition of speed 3 months ago it was 2 points on my record, a 675$ fine and not elligable for traffic school.
here at pittsburg traffic court if you get caught going 15 mph or more over the limit you lose your license. And how long you lose it for depends on how fast you were going.

Wow that's a lot of varying information. Mine was just a standard speeding ticket, no misdemeanor, nothing else like that.

It clearly stated on the ticket that I was not eligible for traffic school. Damn, this is a lot worse than I thought

alright, looked it up on dmv.ca and with my violation it's a 1-point. I got a ticket for "Exceeding Maximum Speed Limit", but it was below 100mph so I'm pretty sure it's 1 point.

I'm probably looking at a $400 fine, and the inability to clear the point.

Sounds accurate according to your experiences?

yess boss.

the CHP told me 'if you were going over 96, you would've gotten your car impounded and arrested'
