The stock shocks are sufficient for most springs. When you go lower than 1.5" from the S2K's stock height, there may not be enough dampening for the stiffer springs. Your car will feel more bouncy and will have unpredictable handling.
There is a myth with stock shocks and aftermarket springs. If you have much stiffer springs than stock, then you will need new shocks that have more dampening. It will balance out the stiff springs. If you have soft springs, but slightly stiffer than stock springs, the stock shocks should be fine.
Webmaecker, I prefer to do the installs at my house, or somewhere near my area (San Jose Area). Sausalito is not that far, but it is a drive. Sorry, don't want to sound like a jerk and not that I don't want to do your springs. Just contact me when you get your springs. We'll work something out.

Webmaecker,
I'm actually not an "owner" of an S2K, although I steal MrMack's car from time to time when he's at work. If I can remember, the Eibach pro's lower the car quite a bit, but are really softly sprung. I would get some aftermarket or revalved struts for those springs. They maybe a little too soft, so you may run into problems with larger bumps. Sucks to replace the nice S2K shocks, because they have the nice reseviors in there.

Yes I have the eibach's with the stock shocks. It pretty much rides like stock and I'm still able to keep my stock alignment settings. I agree that if you go lower than 1.5 inches, then it'd be a better idea to get aftermarkets.
But granted the eibachs don't lower your car too much. Just a bit.

i think 1" would be fine for me... if this was a civic or something i would look for a 1.5 - 2" drop, but the S is already pretty low. plus my powdercoats give the look of being lower than stock...
just want to be sure that there's no suspension weakening/damage from running stock shocks with a 1" drop.
