thanks, but like tougehorseman said, you can't expect to accomodate everyone's schedules. i've organized similar meets before for other groups. it takes a lot of time and effort. just pick a date and whoeved can make it, so be it.

As long as its on a sunday you can count me in. Traditionally treasure island meet are on sundays!

I organize The S2ki Convention of Back Lot Bastards every year, and I have the date and location locked-in up to 5 months ahead of time.* On top of that, I (try) and make sure that we have all of the activities lined up. . . but that's for 3+ days of drunken shenanigans.** I should think we'd want at least a month, but preferably even longer so we can have vendors, drives, meal meet-ups, etc. all planned.

The point of the Mega Meet is to get folks to drive out from some considerable distance away. If we want Reno, Humboldt, Sacramento, Monterey, and even SoCal folks to drive in and get the big attendance numbers, you really have to plan it out.


*but bear in mind many, if not most, of us are flying to the site any given year.
**We're meeting in Chicago Sept. 5th-7th. It's stupid, but fun. If that sounds like a good time, you should be in The Back Lot regularly.

No worries. I suspected there wasn't going to be enough time to do a meet in August. I think the Sunday before the BlackTrax event would be a good time to set the date. Almost two months to get ready. September 14th sounds good?
