Computer shutted off on me last night and won't turn back on. I'm not good at messing with electricals, so I won't even bother. Maybe someone here can help me out?

check your power supply make sure you are getting power. If you have a power, maybe your System motherboard is zapped.

this happened to me too, cept it was a sticker blocking the fan from my power supply, which caused it to automatically shut off.
troubleshooting 101:
1. check other outlets. if they work, then your outlet is fried
2. use another power supply. if that works, then your power supply is fried
3. check all grounds to your motherboard. this requires more time/somewhat technical expertise, but it's more or less visual inspections. find a friend who knows his stuff
4. is your computer making weird noises?
5. does it go through POST?

1. The outlet works fine. (On a surge protector, tested all of that, too.)
2/3. Need someone to help (I'm a newb)
4. Weird noises.. It MADE weird noises for the past week or so. There was a loud spinning noise inside the computer.. it was like the warm up on our cars, and goes away after 5 minutes. I didn't think much of it because I thought the fan was having trouble spinning due to dust.
5. Doesn't go through POST. The computer doesn't even turn on. When I hit the power button, the fan turns on for a split second, then it dies again.
Any volunteers to check my power supply and grounds?

If the weird noise it ticking, your hd might be going.. but that wouldn't contribute to the not powering up issue.
Try taking out your battery and running it plugged in and see if that works..

Desktop or laptop?
If its a desktop, unplug everything. I mean the floppy drive, hard drive, video card, and pretty much anything that is plugged into the motherboard. Just leave the cpu, memory, fans, and any necessary plugs and see if it turns on. If it still doesn't power up, pull the memory out. If it still doesn't power up, pull the cpu out. If that doesn't work, its either power supply or motherboard. If it starts beeping after you pull one of the components out, thats the bad part.
