Default Any Clutch or Differential Problems with any Bay Area S2k Owners

I wanted to see who had any problems with their cars. I seriously considering trading my TL Type S in for 01 model.

What do you mean? Are there quite a few people here in the bay area who are experiencing diff failures?

Is this fairly common to all models 01 and below?

Were the Honda bay area dealers willing to fix the diffs under warranty?

Would you seriously still consider buying a used one aware of the diff and clutch issues?

yeah, I got TWO new clutches in 33k miles thanks to the TSB 054 covered problems. The last fix feels and sounds MUCH better. Kinda cool getting new parts that have improved the drive.

If I were looking at used ones, I would have a current S2000 owner go with you to test drive so that he/she can help you get a better handle on if anything feels or sounds wrong with the clutch (or anything else for that matter). As for the diff, you'll have to ask someone who has had problems. Mine has been great so far and while a few folks have had diff probs, it does not seem to be nearly as prevalent as the threads may indicate since usually its only brought up by those with any problems.

The diff problem sounds to me much less an issue than the trannies in the CL/TL's of late.

Yu888...

If you guys decide to meet up to check out the trannie issue, I'd be interested (as I had mentioned before) in meeting up too. Thanks.

awd-I actually bring my car to Larry Hopkins Honda for when I need any services beyond what I do myself. The tech there got in my car and within 10 seconds of driving acknowledged my clutch-noise problem. Having had two clutches go that route (perfectly functional but just noisy), I can probably tell the symptoms pretty quickly too. The newest version of the clutch seems to have done the trick AND if feels better too!
Anyways, the clutch issue is more of a noise issue than a functionality issue. Nonetheless, TSB 054/5 covers that and the notchy tranny issues very well. If you give me some advancenotice, I may be able to check out the car with you, just PM me.

rukawa88- I have time during the day Friday if you want me to meet with you to check it out. Of, you can see if you can make it to a lunch and I am sure others can also chek it out for you.
