They are a 25 minute install. Very easy. Just go down to your local Best Buy and pick up a Honda, Alpine install harness. It plugs right into your OEM harness then into the back of your Alpine unit. All you need is to pop off the OEM door and use a screwdriver to unbolt the OEM unit, slide it out, hook up your harness, slide it back in, bolt it down, and snap the OEM door back in, done.

This info is not accurate. If you look at the product info for the DCI you will see: "Note: Harness adapters purchased at local retailers will not have the additional wires for the Dash Switch and Mute, but may be used if you are willing to cut and splice into the factory wiring harness to make those connections."

I can help with the install if you want.

It actually is accurate. I had the unit and installed it in my S2000 with the harness. So you cannot argue what already has been done. I have installed just about every part, including stereos with the S2000.

With the DCI and mute? There is an extra wire on the harness offered by modifry. I have installed it too.

I just went back to my Alpine decks and I had installed 3 of them with the same harness from 2001-2006.

From April 25 of 2001 I disabled the left panel with the mute button, etc. So it was never an issue for me. But if I ever had to use that it was another $25 wire that came with it that would have taken me an additional 30-60 minutes of work. You forget that we get these nice remote controls with the Alpine units so I never used that side panel for anything. Waste of space IMO, well except for the engine start button.

In other words, you didn't do a complete DCI install, and the $12 harness adapter from Modifry has everything you need to do it. The OP specifically asked about doing an install with a DCI.

90% of the job is complete in my book but if you must, ebay has S2000 specific parts all over the place...SO IT IS A PLUG AND PLAY.
Like I said the left panel controls were never an issue and were disabled the week I bought my car. If you want them you can use the $8 harness like so many other people have done but you dont need to. You have a remote control and its a plug and play for $15. Lets see I can install this for 91-05 NSXs and 00-05 S2000s and they are all plug and play harnesses for $15 at Best Buy. Seems like a good deal and SIMPLE deal IMO. This is all 2002 stuff thats been done buy hundreds if not thousands of owners worldwide.

Didnt know Alpine head units are going for so cheap these days.
