THERE IS NO DEVICE THAT SHUTS THE CAR OFF IF YOU ARE IN A SPIN!
As you all know the s2000 has no TCS (traction control system) or VSA (vehicle stability assist) so there is no way for the ECU to even know that the car is in a spin!! Now it is obviously possible that if you are in a spin and you firmly hold down the breaks most likely the car will stall because of the wheels being locked (even with ABS). Also, if you are spinning and you are off of the throttle as you go past 180 degrees the wheels will spin backwards, this will stall the engine. Another factor you have to look at is the gear you are in when you spin. If you go around a corner in 3rd gear and the car spins as you slow down the tall gear will stall the car. The device that shuts down the car uses a G force sensor along with a roll sensor that will shut down the fuel system if the car continues to roll past a 45-degree angle. The G force sensor relays info to the ECU to deploy the airbags at the same time cutting off the fuel system. I have spun many times when I get over zealous in a drift not once has the car stalled.

At least your ok. I lost my car the other day. I went to the mall and it was so crowded because of holiday shoppers that I couldn't find my car when I was leaving. Luckily after searching a good long time I realized that I was parked somewhere else.

I'm ashamed to admit, after 11months and 10,000 miles of ownership, I still have more than 50% thread left on my original so2s. Must not be driving hard enough.
There's a proper time and place for everything......that wasn't it in my opinion.
