That's the price you pay for supporting your "hometown" team. I'm a big Mets fan (born in NY) but have lived in Norcal most of my life. I keep my affiliation with the Mets to a minimum unless they are in town. Then I go balls out, dressed to the nines in Met gear, all up in AT&T park. Giants fans are so forgiving.
