$450 for a tune? Sorry but that's way too much. I pay $190 or less depending on how extreme I want it
That would be a complete tune, including part throttle, not just a quickie WOT tune.
Yes the $190 I paid was part and wide open tuning. $450?? I wouldn't pay that much

Funny how it's assumed that all prices would be the same, or else something is wrong/shorted/incorrect. Sounds like you just got a great deal on your tune! More power to ya! Pun intended!

$450 is cheap for street/partial throttle/wot tune!!!!

my old tuner charged $350 a hour..$250 each additional. took him 2 hour to finish the base map and wot, and 2 additional for street fine tuning.

Learn to drive first. Seriously. Nothing you can slap on the car is going to make you any 'faster'

Just show up to a group drive and take a look at how many people have 'pretty' bolt ons, lowered, stretched tires etc and than cannot take a turn. Drive in the slow groups etc etc IMHO modifications are overrated, unless you can actually drive fast first. Once you're at the limit of stock, than improvements make sense.

As for why they're expensive, they're not at all.
