Default Aftermarket Support for S2Ki why so expensive?

Hi i'm fairly new to the forum but not new to the car scene or s2k, but why the hell is the s2k aftermarket parts so damn expensive??

$1000 intake (password jdm) for 10hp??

exhaust ranging from $800-$2000....

headers in the same range is exhaust...

geesh is that normal?

i've owned many cars and s2k and nsx seems to be the most expensive in term of aftermarket.

the amount you pay + the hp in return is just out right ridiculous!!!

$1000 intake is quality but $1000 quality??

you can get the Comptech Intake or K&N FIPK intakes for around 200-300. I know that headers and exhaust can be pricey, you just gotta shop around.

The vehicle was a $30k+ sport car brand new at its time...

Just because the kbb vehicle value went down and people are picking these cars up for 8k - 15k for 00-03 models, doesn't mean that performance parts will be brought down as well.

i do agree with you tho that the cost spend vs what you gain in performance is not worth it at all, which is why i have done no performance mods.

own an M3 or any euro, you will think all these s2k mods are dirt cheap which is great!

and hey, you pay to play...

Yup one of the few performance parts I got new was the k&n intake and HFC the exhaust and header used will save you over $1000 and you can put that towards new suspension.

We are basically paying for scraps of metal put together by a "brand" named company. Lol.
