i got rear ended almost 2 years ago and it didn't look that bad, but it totaled the car since there was frame damage. floor bed was crumpled and gas tank was punctured. i can't imagine fixing that car.

from the outside it looked fine and like a small fender bender, but when you threw the car on a lift, the floor was rippled all the way from the rear to about the front driver/passenger seat and you could see where the gas was leaking. Underneath the trunk carpeting, the trunk was crumpled. The rear door gap on the passenger side was sealed shut and the gap on the driver side opened to about an inch. The guy basically yanked the car to the right and shifted everything in the rear an inch to the right. Also messed up the rear suspension.
My trunk was no where near trashed like yours but the damages on it was ~15k before tear down and finding more damages. The car was valued at around $15k so it got totaled. I was in a 2000 accord sedan. If i come across the pictures, i'll post it for you.
