Default 6pt Harness.. NSFW.

I was curious to the displacement of force evenly through the use of a 6pt (I'm installing a Schroth 6pt). What I came across was a case report on a type of injury that never came to mind. I'm almost rethinking my hobby/passtime.. whatever you call it, completely..

Reader Beware... it's a bit graphic. Skip it if you get quesy easy.

If your an MD or have been restrained by a 6pt and been in a frontal impact, please.. feel free to chime in. I haven't heard of this happening before, so I don't know how common it is.

Considering the impact that they sustained it's really not that bad but I wouldn't want to go through that but if it meant living or dying then it's not that bad.

That is nasty though.

(Directed towards BrianZ),

Remember the incident where you had a hatch run into a friend of yours' car at approx. 80mph (no brakes going into the first turn after leaving the pits). I can't remember if you stated that he simply walked away from it... What harness do you believe he was using? Have you ever heard of anything like this in a frontal impact??

He walked away and suffered no injury as a result.
