i have a friend that works at best buys in santana row. Pm me back if your still interested. He works as a cashier but still gets the same discount. I doubt he knows anything about TVs but he can get you the discount.

Definitely Denny's for the body work. Btw, you're still up here? You never got back to me about Thursday.

1. I would never buy anything from Fry's over $499. It's a hassle to return things at Fry's and feels like you get harassed.

2. Costco does not have an "incredible return policy." A few months ago they have changed all their electronics return policy from "anytime" to "3 months" now.

3. That being said, Costco does carry a few decent LCDs and Plasmas for under $2000 for 50"+ TVs.

are you looking for plasma or LCD? Plasma = Pioneer Elite. LCD has that cinema effect where things look a tad soft imo. Plasma is more contrasty, sharper, richer colors. Downside to Plasma is that it's a tad heavier and hotter. Most people worry about burn in on plasma but a lot of the plasma now a days have that fixed and as long as you don't watch something with a fixed logo for long periods of time, you should be fine. i personally prefer plasma over lcd. I like the rich colors and the tack sharp images. I have a 50" panasonic plasma in the family room and a pioneer elite 42" plasma in my bedroom. I prefer the colors on the pioneer over the panasonic. Panasonic is best buck for the bang imo. If you get it at the right times, it's a very good/decent tv for the price it goes at.

Did not know that Costco changed their policy, but I would still say it is WAY better than most places, especially Best Buys. It is still 3 times longer and they let you return without much hassel at all and almost no questions asked. When I tried returning an LCD at Best Buy because of a dead pixel, it was such a PITA because they were trying to convince me that 2 dead pixels was not a problem even though it was right in the middle of my LCD. Ended up waiting over hour for their "technicians" to check it out and eventually I was able to convince them to let me return it because they didn't have it in stock at the time to exchange. Wouldn't have the problem at Costco.

For that TV at $1999, I'd take the chance at Fry's.
