Best buy ever has been my 37" Olevia LCD 720P for $599. Not sure you'll find it at that price any more but during special sales office depot regularly gets down to 699. Nothing can touch it in a price point near that. Couldn't be happier with the picture. I also had a 42" Samsung DLP so I'm not a complete newb to picture quality etc. You don't necessarily have to pay the big bucks for a decent nice tv.

And not to start a debate or anything, but there is still a significant premium attached to 1080P and a rather large lack of content still (unless you plan on buying HD DVD or BluRay now). By the time either gets really big, the cost of anything 1080p will probably 50% what you will pay today. Just look at the cost of 720p/1080i tvs vs prices from a year and a half ago.

Not a big fan of using TV's as computer monitors. Resolution is too low and looks like crap, IMO.
