thanks fellas. BTW, are there different types or grades of this product? Or is it just "303 Protectant". I'm wondering if because it is also sold at a boating store that there are different types, like ones for car use and ones for boat use, etc...

I believe it only comes in one type/grade.

Off topic but you should also check out Meguiars "40" Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner/UV Protectant.

Ok, thanks for the directions, I picked up a bottle of 303 at WestMarine yesterday. It turned out the store was right down the street from where I work!

Anyway, I tried it out and man, I have had my car for 2.5 years now and even though its always garaged and has very very low miles, I didn't realize HOW MUCH the top needed conditioning. I started on one side and worked my way to the other, and when I was about halfway, the top that had not been condition looked straight up GRAY!! Now my top looks jet black.

I was also reading some of the literature on the 303 website and it said never use anything with oils, petroleum distilates, or anything that says it is flammable, etc. on you vinyl/rubber. In fact, using those products will make it worse? This reminds me of the days when everyone used to use armorall on their cars (dashboards, especially) like there was no tomorrow!

Oh, and just to follow up. The label on the bottle says you can use it on rubber (such as tires, etc.) too.

So how many of you also use it on your tires or the rubber seals around your convertible top? How is this different from using the shin-etsu grease on your seals?

Gracias!
