the 1 thing holding me back from an s2k
So basically about a year ago I bought a 4 Door gsr from one of my mechanics, but the car ended up being a complete lemon, so i returned it to him for a refund and he said ok. When I give him the car back he then says "sorry I cant pay you back right now because I just got evicted" In my head i thought no way I need my money back, but since he has been a loyal mechanic and actually accepted my return I thought wth i guess i could wait a couple of months. So its been a year now and he hasnt paid me back one dime. About 3 months ago i let him know that i finally almost have enough for an s2k and its only the money he owes me that is holding me back. So we go into another agreement and he said hell pay me back in full by march, btw it was 4k dollars, it is now march and i have been calling and leaving voicemails about every few days and now he doesnt return any of my calls and just forwards my calls. I plan on taking him to small claim courts but the problem is i dont know how to get a hold of him or where i can reach him. I dont know his address or anything. Im pretty stumped about what i can do right now. Im really excited about getting my s2k, since i have been saving for awhile, but this guy is just really holding me back. Any advice will help a great deal? Thank You

its been a year?
wow.
sorry but when he said "i cant pay right now" that shouldve thrown up a red flag.
Hopefully you got some sort of written agreement with him, or take down his driver lisence or something??? anything????

wow, i hope you have everything stated in a contract and not just a verbal agreement. other than that you really only have the registration as record that you bought the car ( that is if you registered).

I sure hope you had it all in writing, otherwise you're pretty much screwed.
You can get small claims information here: (assuming you're from Santa Clara County)
http://www.scselfservice.org/small/default.htm
There's also a self-help legal center you can find information.

this happened to a friend of mine, except it was over a laptop. No written agreement, no money. Small claims can only take you so far...
you could always just do it the ol fashioned way. kick his ass
