Continuing progress on the car. I installed a OEM header and dumped my PLM header. I need to reduce power and add weight to the car for TT5 so that was an easy fix. I bought a Karcepts Emanage and I will be dynoing with it and without on Thursday morning to see the results. If it is a gain in too much peak HP, I will have to just run stock which I don't mine. A local S2000 owner let me borrow his stock suspension so I can get my car on the ground.

Speaking of suspension, my AST4150s were screwed. They were tracked hard for 5 years and 2 of the bodies were bent and 3 of the shafts were shot. They surprisingly still dynoed ok on the shock dyno. Working with AST and RE Suspension I was able to use my contingency money to worked out a set of AST5100s with double digressive valves. I'll be the first S2000 running this setup but it will take about 5-6 weeks before I get them.

The Forbidden hardtop sucks. I had to cut it up a bit to make my roll bar work. I drilled a small hole in the inner layer and loaded it up with spray insulation. This worked great! The hardtop is alot quieter now and doesn't pop.

Couple other small things, the tab for my bumper was broken and I was able to repair that with some JB weld and it looks like it is working well.

I also did the Billman axle nut TSB. The 1/2 inch drive socket set I got for Christmas made easy work of this job. We finally had a somewhat warm day so I was took out my wheels and cleaned them all up so they wouldn't have brake dust sitting on them throughout the winter.

For the most part, the car is pretty much done. I just need my suspension and need to decide if I am going to finish my cage.

The car kinda looks like a monster truck with the stock suspension on!

No, they were bolted down before. I'm working on a weight box for next season as I will have take on about 130lbs.

I had some time to work on the car today. With NASA TT5 I have to add about 115lbs to the car. I don't like a ton of interior noise so I added some cheap knock off dynamat stuff that I got from amazon for about $20. I also was on a mission to get rid of any and all hardtop noise. As stated before, I injected my hardtop with spray foam insulation which helped but it still creaked. I bought this thin 3m seal that I placed around the rear trim and shin etsu greased the crap out of everything. I put a bunch of the weight on the hardtop when installed it and taped the leading edge cleanly with black duct tape. I'm happy to report this all worked out extremely well and the car is very quiet driving around. The hardtop doesn't make any more noise now. I also installed my TrackSpec hood vents I picked up during their Black Friday sale. The install was fairly easy but took a bit of time to cut and measure everything right. I really love the fit and finish of these and I think they look excellent on the car. Finally, I cleaned my engine bay up. I keep my engine bay clean always because it only takes a few min to wash and makes it easy to identify any leaks.

The car is on a stock borrowed suspension still. It's going to be 5-6 weeks at least before my new suspension gets here which I can't wait for! I alway tidied up my carpet. It is just some automotive carpet I bought for around $60 bucks that I laid back there to give it a cleaner look. It is laid down pretty lose and when the seats and hardtop are on, it looks significantly better then being gutted. It also ads next to no weight.

I dynoed the car earlier this week as well. The car previous had K&N intake, PLM header, high flow cat, and a T1R single exhaust. I got a good deal on a used Karcepts Greddy Emanage setup. For TT5, I have to either reduce power or add weight or do a combination of the two. Earlier in the year, the car made 214RWHP with the bolts on. In a effort to reduce power and add weight, I put a stock header back on the car. I also put the stock trans mount back on the car because the Innovative 75A setup was driving me nuts with the noise.

I went back to the same dyno at InlinePro. I did a fresh valve adjustment just the other week as well. Surprisingly, the car made the same power with the stock header as the PLM. Of course it was a different day but I think we can conclude the header isn't a big difference in power if any. I then did some back to back runs with with the tuned Emanae. The Karcepts tune is spot on and the A/F is better then stock and the power delivery is way more linear. You don't hear or feel the VTEC engage, its more just like continuous power delivery.

I really like the power delivery with the EMU but I am leaning towards not running it. The increased average HP is making me run 170lbs of ballast with the tune vs 115lbs without it.

I also reinstalled my Blox steering race spacers and adjustable end links that I was forced to take off to fit into TTC due to points. While TT5 has some flaws, I really like not getting nit picked for small things like spacers and end links.

I'm looking at adding ballast to run in TT5 also. I would love to see how you set up the weight box. Any ideas in that regard are greatly appreciated.
Great thread. Very helpful!

I'll have something up about that in the next few weeks.
