Each time I decide I want a Mugen CF top I end up driving by another S2000 with an OEM top. The struggle continues. Some days are Mugen CF days, other days are OEM days...
An update on brake pads. I already mentioned it but again the Winmax W5 are definitely better suited for warmer weather street or track use. You can warm them up very quickly but when driving cold you may get slight variances in the bite under normal driving conditions. Not a major issue but I decided to run the W5 on the street for a longer period to test them a bit more in various weather and they work great other than bite loss when they are cold. Noise is a complete non-issue so far with the Spoon calipers and these pads, but dusting is the same as with OEM calipers.
The Club Racers have consistently worked well for me form 0 degrees but I think the W5 definitely having a higher and wider operating range once they are warmed up. I decided to run W5 front pads and CR rear pads for awhile and while the car is totally fine with this setup, it would be better with W5 pads in the rear as well. I have no reason to believe that staggered pad compounds are beneficial at least for how i use the car and how I like to brake. I think this comes down to driver preference and is pretty minor as the front pads are definitely more important overall in the way the car slows down. I don't experience the rear getting into ABS before the front when running the same compound F + R though. Having tried various configurations I would always choose to have the same compound front and rear.

Pulled the secondary o2 sensor yesterday. I want to save it for when I need to smog again.
Also popped on some new front pads. W5s again for now. Spoon calipers make changing pads so damn simple. You don't really need any special tools to push the pistons back, a flat head screw driver will work just fine to push the current pads away from the rotor to compress the piston. If you don't use brake rotors screws you can even just move the rotor around slightly to compress the pistons slightly and remove the pads. Best to use the old pads to help push the pistons back evenly. My pad spreader tool makes it easy to to do it quick and consistently though and fits fine in the Spoon caliper.

Anyone interested in the staggered set of bronze CE28Ns feel free to make me an offer! They are still in great condition I just need to clean them up. I removed the 'Volk Racing' stickers from the spokes but have replacements if someone is interested. I paid $2000 for the wheels without tires. I would be willing to sell them for $1800 with tires. 225/255 AD08Rs at around 40% with some minor camber wear on the fronts. The rear left also had a picture in the main tread that was plugged and patched without any issues.
Not really interested in shipping them at the moment so any local guys that are interested let me know. And tell your friends if you think they might be interested!
