for those wondering, the new wheels have a different face shape, the 17x9.5 +40 are ever so slightly concaved.

for those that don't know about the website www.willtheyfit.com it's a great resource! i consulted the website before deciding that i could make the new wheels work.

showed that the new wheels would only have 1.4mm more poke than the old setup so i went for it. Of course the 255 were wider than the 245 but they would be on a 9.5" wheel instead of a 9" so it would help in fender clearance. All in all, i love the new setup. The 255's also helped to close the wheel well gap by 4mm noted by "arch gap loss" and raised my car by 4mm noted as "ride height gain" both positives as i was previously considering lowering my car a bit more and i was also slightly scraping the speed bump in my neighborhood whereas now i clear it without scraping.
