Go with 265 in the rear.

And you got some crazy one-off set Regamaster EVO's because the inside lip has a flange/step or whatever you call it. Normal Regamaster EVO's aren't like that. Also, I don't ever recall seeing a 17x9 +40. You'll probably need spacers in the front to clear the brakes and probably 5-10mm spacer in the back for more flushness. Good come up!

thx! i am already on a 255/265 set up with the SA3RV2s... perhaps if i can find a 25" 275
the idea with this set was to give myself a bit of clearance so i don't crack fenders during auto-x.
will be test fitting the fronts soon. prelim measurements looks like i'll clear but we'll see. my local regamaster guru (alphaproject) believes i will clear no prob

I have 17x9 +38 EVO's and would have needed a minimum of 3mm spacer to clear spoon calipers. Unless the spoke angle on your +40 is different, most likely you'll need a 3-5mm spacer. Hope your test fit is successful and proves me wrong.

yeah i've never seen Regas like those before! usually on 17" Evos, the slits on opposing spokes connect. Now i wonder if these were some special edition! very interesting! maybe super rare?

Very strange indeed. Like others have stated, evo's never came in thoughs sizes. Even the stamp is different.

the stamp is similiar to the smaller diameter evos... makes sense since the spoke/inner lip is the same

I doubt they're replicas. That's a lot of trouble to go through to make a replica wheel for a very small market of cars that can actually fit them (ap and s chassis)

others may have their doubts about authenticity, but i've never seen a fake wheel go through the trouble of stamping Made in Russia on the back, so i'm thinking they are real. I'm just interested to find out if they are some special edition, or maybe prototype as Felipe suggested. They have all the design elements of a 16" but on a 17" which is crazy!
