Default aerial atom, here i come!

Hey there guys,

Im brought here mainly by the F20C, the powerplant for my planned build.

My plans.

F20C that will go like a raped ape, mated to a mendeola S5 transaxle, mid engine, rear drive. Since im not smart enough to fab my own steering, suspension, and breaking components, find a donor vehicle to pull at least the mounts off(ill probably run a pushrod/bell crank suspension, similar to the AMG project 1) that ill have to find out

Im torn between a few things. wether or not I should buy a complete vehicle, gut it and use the steering and breaking mounts, engine and possibly part of the frame(for ease of registering, cause I want it to be street legal)

Anyway, im still on the drawing board. but got the main components decided on. F20C, thats gonna go like a raped ape, mid engine, RWD, with a sequential box, possibly paddle shifters, one, possibly two seats and twin turbo.

Shes gonna be bad ass.

anyway, figured id post this here, cause its gonna happen. hopefully before im dead lol

Sounds like it would just be cheaper/easier to go buy an actual Atom and put a F20 or F22 in it.

well thats no fun.

sure maybe cheaper in the long run. and easier sure.

I may not go with the mendeola(14k for a transaxle is KINDA up there) but its gonna be mid engine, bad ass and i can say I built it

Have you consider using K20/K24 instead? much cheaper and you could probably use a lot of the FWD stuff in the rear

A K24 is going to make more power and torque everywhere, be properly sumped for the direction you're mounting it, cost a quarter of the price of a F20, and have easily sourced manual transmissions with LSDs.

I love the F series to death, but your getting far ahead of yourself. K series is perfect for this (This is why they come with a K in the first place)
I dont see any advantage in running a F over a K in a atom......

Agreed.

not having to spend 14 grand on a transaxle will be... nice. then getting the two to fit as well will be much nicer
