I voted Spa for its sheer visual magnificence.

A close second would be Diabolica or Turn 8 in Turkey. A mistake there has consequences and can ruin one's lap time. I like how this corner is technically challenging.

It was a hard decision and I must admit it is thrilling to watch the cars go through all of the above mentioned corners.

Turn 8 came on second place in the thoughts of many of us, but non chose it as his favourite.. do you think the lack of history is keeping us from choosing it?

It could very well be that. We have all along been used to tracks that follow the contours of the terrain. Eau Rouge is an example of that.

Diabolica/Turn8 is a man made corner. We have just started to see these corners come into play only in the last few years. So while the respect for the corner is there, it still does not have history attached to it, nor does it have the visual splendor of the older tracks. That in no way takes away from the skill it demands of the drivers

Voted for Eau Rouge because of it's uniqueness in terms of elevation change and history. That said, I think the best track on the calendar is still Suzuka, and probably will never be beaten in terms of it's ability to test the drivers skill at nearly every part of the track. If there was ever a "driver skill level" rating for F1 tracks, Suzuka would be "Advanced/Expert." Not that other tracks aren't fantastically awesome and challenging like Monaco and Spa, but the combination of the corners, all at the limit of the car and driver and many at medium-high speed is something very unique to an F1 circuit. From the Essess to the top of the hill in to the Dunlop corner, the infamous off camber balls to the wall Degner corner(s), in to the dip-right-before-you-brake gnarly hairpin, the infamous off camber Spoon corner (probably the most difficult corner in F1 from a technical perspective) in to the balls to the wall flat 130R and then a brilliant braking zone for the Casio Triangle. It's just unbelievable. Dare I say it's...perfect?

P.S. - It was originally a Honda test track. Go figure.....

From that list, Eau rouge for sure, though the double-left Pouhon is probably more fun and a bit more challenging/scary.

Here's me driving round

As for the gradient, foot is flat to the floor at 94mph in 4th, and the car starts to slow down
