Montoya, Power, Kanan, Castroneves, Pagenaud. Exciting race. Those aero packages really make a difference.

I watched the race briefly and a graphic came up that I could not quite figure out. At that point in the race, 7 Honda front wings had been replaced compared to 1 for Chevy. Are they required to change aero mid race or were the Honda aero bits just not as good?

Pagenaud was in a Chevy?? Thought he was supported by Honda. In any case good to see someone like him get a drive.

Chevy cars namely Penske cars were up front away from some of the carnage. Wing changes were from all the bangin on track. Also Simona pulled a Grand Turismo straight into the back of Jakes. Also......
"Chocolate" Chip Ganassi was not impressed.

There is no requirement to change wings. The Honda aero package has more stuff sticking out than Chevy.

^ Thanks for the clarification guys. After watching the race in Sepang - a circuit where drivers can take multiple lines through some corners, the St. Pete street circuit seemed awfully narrow. Was interesting to also see the TV commentator describe how precise the crew had to be when doing tire changes. Maybe there will be less wing carnage once they head over to road courses and ovals. Need to watch more Indy Car...but find it hard to make time.

You should do what I do: record the races and watch them when you have time.

So Chevy loses 220 constructor points for an engine repair for reliability.

Managed to watch the race that I had recorded. I quite enjoyed it. I'll try and catch the next one too.
