So Montoya crashes out of his 1st race
I did not watch the race, but I read JPM did not have such a good race. Sounds like he got a good orientation to what he has signed himself up for, a little bump and run on JJ Yeley part.
CRASHCAR it is...

More like he got crashed out of the race than that he crashed himself out. It appeared to be retaliation for a previous incident. According to the drivers involved, though, it was not intentional. In fact, apparently no one touched JPM -- they just "took the air off his spoiler".
If NASCAR wants to get serious about this stuff, they need to do what other sports do and suspend drivers (and cars) for a race or two. Otherwise they are going to keep seeing this stuff until somebody is killed. (That's still true even though it seems to not be applicable to this particular case.)
JPM's car was pretty spectacularly on fire, but it looked like the onboard fire suppression was keeping it away from him until he could get out.

Or, as one of the guests on Wind Tunnel said, anytime there is any kind of contact, Both drivers should automatically go to the back.
I wasn't aware, and it's probably old news to some, but apparently when Paul Tracy went to NASCAR he literally got bumped out of the series because everyone wanted and took a piece of him. Apparently the teams/drivers don't like "outsiders." But rumor has it that the France family (who own nascar) wants Montoya to succeed because he'll bring in the Latino audience. And they're all about business, not racing...
